Accounting has been my background for around 12 years. I’ve worked in Office Management and accounting positions, in addition to working in a Chartered Accountants Office. Further, since being in business for 9 years, I’ve been involved in many interesting projects in different business’s that has given me street wise experience along with corporate knowledge and understanding.

I’ve been there and done that. Any part of running your business I’ve done once, twice or a hundred times in some cases. If there is something I don’t know, I usually know how to find out or who to ask.

My speed on a keyboard, especially for data entry into MYOB, is highly efficient and accurate. It is important to remember when choosing a consultant that it is not what their rate is, but more importantly how long they will take to do the work.

Why is it important to be is Certified by MYOB?

If you look hard enough you’ll find a lot of people proclaiming to be “Experts” in MYOB. The reality is MYOB have proclaimed only myself and other Certified Consultants to be expert in their software by testing us initially, giving us ongoing training and continuing to re-test us on an annual basis to ensure our competency.

Bookkeeping is as yet an unregulated industry. There are a huge amount of people claiming to be “bookkeepers” and “consultants” out there that just aren’t up to scratch to be a Certified Consultant, which is why they aren’t. There is as yet no formal qualification that says someone is a “bookkeeper” or “MYOB consultant” except to be an MYOB Certified Consultant.

What do you do when you’re low budget bookkeeper charges you all year and then you find out her work is useless when the accountant comes to visit? This happens more often than you probably think. Being a Certified Consultant you are reassured that we’ll do right by you as we have a reputation at stake and a certification to maintain. We can’t just disappear and leave you in the lurch, or charge you and not carry out the work.

What else can a Certified Consultant do for you?

If you employ a bookkeeper to carry out your day to day entries and you can’t be sure it’s being done right. Then you need to have your MYOB reviewed externally periodically.

If there is ever a chance of fraud from staff, or if you’ve discovered fraud activity in the past or currently and you need an audit to survey the damage, or implement systems to stop it happening again.

If you don’t own the MYOB software but would still like your bookkeeping done in an electronic format either to view your profitability or to give to your accountant to save on accounting fees.

If you feel confident in doing your own data entry, journals, payroll, super, BAS etc but just need someone to make sure you’re on the right track and fix any errors.

If you’re not sure that you’re getting the best out of the software and you feel you can handle some new systems to save time, or to maintain a better paper trail.

If you don’t know how to use the software, you’ve just purchased it and have no idea where to begin.
