Installation of MYOB software

Sometimes issues occur when installing new MYOB software. Problems may also be encountered on installing software upgrades and upgrading your company data file and there are certain things that need to be done in the correct way to ensure you’re operations run smooth after installation.

Customising MYOB for You!

When setting up a new company file for use in your business there are certain settings and tweaks which need to be done correctly, many of which will benefit you by saving data entry time and calculating things in the correct way and others are for your accountants benefit when finalising the end of year data, such as ensuring the correct linked accounts and preparing a neat usable chart of accounts.

AJ Accounting has bundles of expertise helping different types businesses and will customize your software to be user friendly for You. MYOB was written generically to allow it to adapt to many different business’s, so it contains features that have no use to some people. In fact you may find you only use a small amount of the available features. How do you know which ones? Give us a call!

Training One-on-One

Most MYOB training courses will teach you a bit of everything. They will train you in sections of MYOB that have no relevance to you and your business. Not many businesses will implement everything that MYOB offers, its just not feasible. With my individualised training you can be assured that you will learn what YOU need to know to most help you in your business. 

If required I prepare notes specific to the training that are typed as we go. You can refer back to these on an ongoing basis. I usually recommend at least two training sessions of 3 – 4 hours each, a few weeks apart, to allow you to adequately grasp what you’re learning. I also recommend a follow up appointment a few months down the track to check your progress.

Periodical Reviews

Once you’ve reached the point where you’re entering data into MYOB on an ongoing basis, it is imperitive that you have a specialist (such as myself :) ) check up on your data periodically to check your progess and correct any mistakes that may have occurred.

Also on these visits I’ll keep you informed of new features, updates available etc and as you’re business grows or changes you can be assured that the continual monitoring and changes will result in a well run, frequently tweaked accounting system that you and your accountant can readily rely on.

Setup Specific Features in MYOB

MYOB offers many features in their software that may be usefull for your business. I will never implement a feature that doesn’t have some cost or time saving benefit or doesn’t give us some additional valuable information.

If your business grows and your requirements change we can assess the usability of your current systems and implement new systems to handle the growth which will benefit in saving time and ultimately money.

Even if you can’t pinpoint exactly what you want, but know you aren’t getting the most out of your software, give me a call becuase I can assess what you need and discard what you don’t and we can fine tune your system to suit you.
